The requirements for installing Absolute 5 are: Here we’ll mainly cover what has been added to the latest version of Absolute. That is just the short list, as there is just so much more to it. It has 130+ GB of content, 7,500+ presets, synth/sampler plugins such as HALion 6, Padshop, Retrologue, Groove Agent and Backbone. Cubase actually began on the Atari ST as a sequencer called Pro Twenty Four. The history of Steinberg reaches far back in time, as they’ve been within the music software arena since the 1980s. They also produce professional-quality hardware audio interfaces and controllers. Steinberg is a Germany-based firm that develops music software products such as Dorico, Cubase, HALion, Nuendo, Wavelab, and Padshop as well as many expansions for several of their software products. I’m using Cubase for recording and it’s just not what I need for live performances.If you haven’t heard of Steinberg, I will give you a brief overview here.

I need a reliable program for playing live. Is there something else I need to do with mapping because of this setup?Īny advice would be greatly appreciated. What I’m not totally clear on is the in/out channel maps that Cantabile offers and haven’t been able to find a great explanation to see if changing any of this would help. I really am a noob when it comes to understanding the MIDI mapping. I don’t currently have a cable like that to test it and am feeling like this would still be the same issue because it’s a combination in/out, too. It does have a MIDI (pin) cable connection on it but it’s an in/out combined, also. The only thing I can think of is that the Keystation uses a USB MIDI in/out instead of the usual MIDI pin cable in/out setup and that is causing my issues. And like I said, it works perfectly with the Technics/MIO setup. And I get sound when I map to the on screen keyboard with the same plugins. FWIW, it ‘is’ receiving the signals because I’ve looked at the input log but not the output. I should mention this Keyboard works just fine with Cubase and the same plugins. I really need it to work with my M-Audio Keystation 88 (MIDI controller). It works perfectly with my old Technics Piano that I use an USB midi cable (MIO) with and Halion plugins.
